ASRC Federal Holding Company Expands Services,
Creates World Technical Services, Inc.
Expanded Entity Offers Full Spectrum of Technical and Support Services;
Provides Operational and Cost Efficiencies for Military and Government Agency Customers Worldwide
December 18, 2008 – Greenbelt, MD – ASRC Federal Holding Company (ASRC Federal) is enhancing the capabilities of its subsidiary, Field Support Services, Inc. (FSSI), which will begin doing business under the name World Technical Services, Inc. (WTSI) on Jan. 1, 2009.
The newly expanded entity will offer a comprehensive array of both mission-critical and base support solutions for military and government agency customers.
“WTSI will consolidate a wide range of technical and support services under one roof, allowing our customers to achieve significant operational and cost efficiencies,” said Bill Sample, president and CEO of World Technical Services, Inc. “As a direct result of this augmentation, WTSI will be positioned to meet the diverse engineering, logistics and operations and maintenance needs of federal customers around the globe.”
The service expansion is being accomplished by integrating services provided by ASRC subsidiary Arctic Slope World Services into FSSI. It fuses high-tech radar, sensor, instrumentation, maintenance and engineering capabilities with complex logistics solutions and base support core competencies.
Prior to its integration into WTSI (formerly FSSI), Arctic Slope World Services provided expert management, operations and maintenance solutions across a broad range of worldwide technical services contracts, including some of the U.S. Department of Defense’s most complex and critical programs in networking and security, combat training systems, global positioning systems (GPS) and environmental services.
Field Support Services, Inc. was acquired by ASRC in 2000 when it expanded its offerings to include government base operations support services (BOSS), logistics operations and environmental remediation for numerous government agencies including the Department of Defense, Department of Commerce and Department of Homeland Security.
